Well, I finally managed to take the Corvette out and about after nearly 2 months of it just sitting . The battery was flat, but a quick jump start solved that problem. Anyway, my girl and I took advantage of the gorgeous weather to do some driving . Only about an hour on the road , b ut I’m not going to lie, it felt great just to get out and drive.

But that’s not all!

I also started a new batch of beer. I’m a little worried it will come out bland, since I brewed it using grains, hops, and dry yeast I’ve had just sitting around from other brews over the last year . I’m thinking it would be most closely classified as an English brown ale, but I’ll have a better idea when it is done fermenting in a couple of weeks. The only dry yeast I had was from Red Star, and well past its best-by date. But it was still viable, as I can hear (and smell) my fermenter here in my office.

In the 4 or so years I’ve been brewing, this was the f irst time Mrs. Aardvark helped out on a brew day. Thankfully it was a small batch, and she actually was very helpful.

Our little Beagle-mutt Pepper enjoyed it too , as she got plenty of time to splash around in her kiddie pool outside.

You won at the weekend! The ‘Vette is looking good, and I hope the beer turns out tasty . And Pepper is so cute!!!

I hung curtains. And avoided doing grad school work. I’m also jealous about the beer thing, I can’t really drink at the moment, which has been both a blessing and a curse.

Thank you on all accounts!

Funny enough, I actually brew far more beer than I drink. Out of every 10 gallons I produce, I generally set aside about 1 gallon or less for myself, and give the rest away (under normal circumstances) to my softball league or to who ever wants it.
